When my sister asked me to look at some holiday cottages in St Ives, I thought I was just giving her my opinion for her own trip there. She showed me one of the cottages that can sleep ten people in the five bedrooms, and she asked me what I thought about getting our gang together for a group holiday. I thought it sounded like a wonderful idea. The gang consists of the two of us along with our husbands, our two younger sisters and their husbands, and our parents. While we have taken group holidays together, there was never one with all ten of us together.
We presented the idea to everyone, and they all thought it was a great idea too. Showing them pictures of the cottage along with the different things to do in the area was a very easy sell. The cottage itself is huge. The five bedrooms are strategically placed to give maximum privacy for each couple. The common rooms include the living room, the kitchen, a large indoor as well as outdoor dining room, and an in ground pool off the massive patio.
We were torn between that one and one that was right on the beach. It would have been nice to just walk out the door and onto the beach, but the rooms were smaller, and there were only two bathrooms at that cottage. We all agreed after our first night that we had made the right decision, mainly because the beach is only about a five minute drive away. We booked the cottage for nine days, and we had the most amazing time there. I don’t know if we will ever be able to do something like that again, but I know that we are all going to try our hardest to make that happen!
